Food and Drink

Traditional session at McGrorys

Enjoy delicious food while having a few drinks and listening to live traditional music in a local bar or also enjoy a peaceful, quiet meal in a restaurant such as Mc Grorys of Culdaff, the Malin Hotel in Malin town or Rosatos Bar in Moville.

 

Beaches

Culdaff beach

Inishowen has many beautiful beaches; the cottage itself is situated only a 5 minute drive from the beautiful blue flag beach of Culdaff. Other beaches include Shroove beach, the Five Fingers Strand at Malin and the Pollon beach at Ballyliffin. Enjoy a peaceful stroll along the golden sand or let the kids have fun in the playpark.

 

Golf

Ballyliffin Golf Course

There are a number of great golf courses within easy access of the cottage, including the renowned Ballyliffin Golf Club (which has ranked no.1 golf club in Ireland by Golf Digest). This golf course includes two 18-hole golf links were you can enjoy different levels of golfing on both links.

Heritage

Donagh Cross

Inishowen has many wonderful ancient Celtic monuments spread around the peninsula. Take a short drive to see the Bocan Stone Circle, Celtic Cross at Clonca, Donagh Cross at Carndonagh, Grianan of Aileach at Burt or High Cross at Carrowmore and enjoy the ancient Irish heritage.

 

Other things to do

Lough Foyle Ferry

The cottage is in easy access of many other things to keep the family entertained like take a day trip on the Greencastle-Magillian ferry to Portrush or Benone Strand, Greencastle is only a half hour drive from the cottage. Also you could visit the local Maritime Museum in Greencastle or Doagh Island Famine Village for some historical information about the area during famine times. If you enjoy walking there are a number of great walking routes including a peaceful and scenic walk up to Clomany Waterfall or the picturesque Swan Lake Park in Buncrana.
